With July recognised as a busy holiday seasonal period, this years hill challenge was as expected a quiet affair. With many on holiday and a local road race to compete against, not to mention hill in our event title, the event was expected to be a low key affair.
Replacing an Aussie Pursuit, with a short hill sprint on the Legananny Rd, competitors raced from Scarva to Loughbrickland and back with a total 5.2miles. Now with a good road surface this was a tasty short challenge of 2 halves. A hilly out and a fast sweeping return. All but Neil used Road Bikes, with Neil on the Planet X Exo3.
Conditions were good, dry, warm and a light changeable wind. To give a better idea of personal performance we gave a split for the hilly out leg and a combined time at the finish. Narrowly hanging onto the bragging rights of club hill jockey was Neil whom beat JD by 1 second on the Road Bike @MarginalGains. Bit of fun and a Great effort by all. Big well done also to Philip and Mark who stopped by, leaving with creditable efforts.
Thanks as ever, to all those who marshalled and kept the clocks in good order.
