It was the season opener this evening, with a 2 Up TTT, to see us into club level race mode after a hard winter.
Conditions were cold with a cool 6c and strong winds a real challenge on the outward leg to Annaclone though on turning it become a helpful tailwind return.
10 pairings took part, along with 9 individuals representing the club colours of Clann Eireann, Apollo CT, Dromore CC, Dromara CC, Banbridge CC, Phoenix CC, WDW, SMCC and Powerhouse Sport. With the focus on the night pairings, it was both an opportunity to loosen up for the season ahead or have a real go, working off solid teamwork drafting.
On the night there was only one winner, with the formidable pairing of Lindsay Watson and John Heverin setting a blistering 24.02 in difficult conditions. Next pairing over the line we John Davidson and Gordy Brown at 26.18
In the Individuals, there was a mix of aero and road bike. Strongest on the night was Ian Weir with an impressive 25.58 with second placed Rory McIntyre a meagre 1 sec behind.
Big thanks to all those who came out to ride in hard yet mercifully dry conditions. Our thanks also to co-hosts TVR and to those on marshaling, photography and timekeeping duties.
Individual timings can be seen in the attached photographs.
