Sunday 17th of September we had VCI member Martin taking part in a the Charity Sportive “A Cycle for John. A few words on the Sportive from Martin below.
“A cycle for John” Sportive (in memory of John McNally)
A good turn out on a sunny morning, leaving from Sally McNallys through Hamiltons Bawn into Armagh. This is where the 40 and 70 mile route split, the 40 miler headed for Keady but turned off via Tassagh into Markethill for the halfway refuel stop. We then headed onto Poyntzpass, stopping at Rices Hotel for some more refreshments. There was a great atmosphere in there as the 25, 40 and 70 mile routes all gathered together. We set off again, having a good run into Tandragee and back out Portadown direction turning off for Sally McNallys.
We arrived to a great spread of burgers, sausages, chicken wings, pasta, as well as plenty for the sweet tooth. Another friendly and well marshalled event.
