With the huge rise in cycling interest, many council groups within the UK have come on board to promote cycling as both environmentally friendly and a massive step towards a healthy lifestyle. As cyclists within a club we all fully understand the enormous pleasure of fellowship and the satisfaction of setting and reaching goals. That step we’ve all taken is now being promoted through our local council and a Sofa to Saddle program.
This is a great opportunity for those interested in taking up cycling for the first time, or interested in riding in a controlled group for the first time. For the cost of £30 you will receive Cycling Ireland membership for 1 year, which includes 3rd party liability insurance. Club membership for 1 year (usually £20), 10 weeks cycle training with trained club members and free entry to the ABC Sportive (usually anywhere from £15+) and a jersey.
With Velo Club Iveagh in this partnership, training will take place on a Wednesday evening. We usually meet in Scarva, however this is currently being reviewed. We are a small club and only have the ability to take on 10 – 12 participants (other clubs have had upwards on 150 participants taking part in previous years) so get in quick.
We would like to welcome any interest, please feel free to contact us via our website or why not look in on us on our Facebook page. Please note that this venture goes live on Sun 9th of April. For further details
