It all kicks off this weekend, with the first Open Race of the season, hosted by Banbridge CC on the familiar roads around Annaclonne. Saturday will see Our A4”s (Josh, Mark, Junior, Davy and Gordon) in the support race with 4 laps (31.5 miles) of this annually difficult hilly first race. Neil will represent us at A2 level in the main race with 6 laps (48.5 miles). Much hard work has been done over the winter to prepare and given the right opportunities we hope that work will pay off. For Junior this is his first outing at Open Race level and like the others we wish him the very best. Race sign on from 10.00 with race start at 12.00
On Sunday, the venue changes to the Phoenix GP and the almost predictably wind swept circuit between Dundrod and Loanends. With 5 races on offer VC Iveagh will have only two out on Sunday (Mark and Junior) to take on the 4 laps (34 miles). Race sign on from 09.30 with the race start at 10.45 with a rolling start from Crumlin.
Best wishes to all. If possible we would ask members to show their support were possible
Go hard or go home gents!!!!

We expect both races to be frantic with the whole field in both races raring to go. Whilst it’s expected many will be using the race as a check balance for their fitness, this is an opportunity for those who prefer the early races to lay down a marker. Let’s hope that nervous energy is controlled and it’s a safe race for all
