A race season is relentless, each week brings yet another event and with it the physical exertion required to maintain a level of performance that edges the nearest competitor. We are on the downward slope of May and about to host the fourth event on a very busy VC Iveagh Race League, the 15 mile sufferfest TT that is the Banbridge Circuit. As always there is a lot of pre-race excitement and we are hoping the skies clear and once again give us the fantastic weather we’ve had for each previous race this year.
The event starts on the Rathfriland Road (A1 Creamery flyover) and heads south east through Annaclone and over May’s Corner. Take left at the Diamond and carry-on to Katesbridge were you then swing left onto the Katesbridge straight before hitting the final left at McCoys Garage. It’s then a power home to the Castlewellan Road finish with the chequered flag sitting on the A1 flyover at Chinauley.
Sign-On from 18:30pm with the race starting at 19:00pm. £1 entry fee and limited competition licence to ride. Everyone shall be made more than welcome.
This year the VC Iveagh Race League is proudly sponsored by Rice’s Hotel who will offer a prize for not only the overall VC Iveagh league winner but they will also offer the same prize to the visiting club race winner. Basically if you attended more than 50% of VC Iveagh races you will qualify for the visitor’s prize.
